Here are 7 more B.K.S. Iyengar quotes

1. "Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open."

2. "Penetration of our mind is our goal, but in the beginning to set things in motion, there is no substitute for sweat."

3. "The highest point of yesterday should be the lowest point of today."

4. "Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured."

5. "Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one's being, from bodily health to self-realization. Yoga means union -- the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one's actions."

6. "When you inhale, you are taking the strength from God. When you exhale, it represents the service you are giving to the world."

7. "Illuminated emancipation, freedom, unalloyed and untainted bliss await you, but you have to choose to embark on the Inward Journey to discover it."

Class Description:
Backbends represent a celebration of the heart. Join us for a 30 minute Power Vinyasa practice with a focus on opening into Eka Pada Rajakapotasana 1 (King Pigeon 1).

About Randy Chu:
I am a self-professed Yoga Mutt, having practised for over a decade with local and international teachers in various styles which include Anusara, Power Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vijnana. The physicality of the practice drew me in...the deep inner work sealed the deal. In 2006, I saddled up and completed my first teacher training program with the intention to do for my students what my teachers have done for me. Although my approach is light hearted, the deep gratitude and respect that I have for this practice is unquestionable. I look forward to seeing you in class. Be prepared to sweat, laugh, play and dig a little deeper into the relationships within. — with Randy Choo Choo Train at Karma Teachers.
