Jenafor Ryane

Monday - 5:15
(Alternating with Thea Wood)
Jenafor's yoga adventures began many moons ago. She stumbled upon this  beautiful and life changing practice quite by accident as an alternative way of  exploring movement after many years of dance. Jenafor's passion for yoga grew at
a slow and steady pace until 2008 when after taking a hatha yoga class at  Semperviva Yoga, her practice became a lifelong friend. Something clicked for  Jen, and she hasn't looked back. In 2011, Jen completed her 200 hour yoga
teacher training with Semperviva Yoga College, and she has had the honour and  the privilege of teaching what she loves ever since.  Yoga has enriched  Jenafor's life, and she is forever grateful for the capacity it has given her to  endeavor to a life rich with presence. Who knew that the simple act of inhaling  and exhaling could bring Jen such overwhelming joy, peace, gratitude and  connection? Jen looks forward to meeting you and exploring the incredible gift  of yoga! Come breathe, stretch, laugh, and play! We have so much to teach each  other!

Tuesdays 6:15 Ecstatic Yoga
Yoga transformed my life and I want to share it with others.  I want to teach from my heart and I want to be of service to others by sharing yoga selflessly and free of charge. I started Karma Teachers along with many brave yogis to answer a higher calling and to listen to  the inner guru and surrender to the lessons that it wants to impart.
I teach regularly to homeless youth with a focus on liberation, healing and self acceptance. I also teach kids classes which includes kids with ADD, ADHD and Autism. At Karma Teachers, I teach ecstatic yoga to the public usually with a Live Djembe drummer. I want to bring yoga to all the people that do not have access to its wonderful benefits. I truly believe that this is my life's purpose. Namaste.

Hatha class...I teach Hatha yoga woven with power, vinyasa, and yin influences and a focus on conscious breathing and movement. Although I have strong vinyasa "roots", I appreciate the flexibility that the broader practice of Hatha yoga gives me to take students deeper into certain poses, hold poses longer, and focus on more stretch and release at times, without having to jump to the next vinyasa, unless, of course, that's what we are feeling on a given day. Teaching a Hatha style also gives me the latitude to explore the less physical practices of pranayama and meditation as an integral part of the yoga class. Some days we will workshop key poses from ashtanga primary series, other days a traditional Sivananda class with long holds, and other days a flowing, breathing, moving practice. I also try to take a little time each class to slow down to workshop and learn the basics of certain foundational poses. Students should expect to breathe, feel and sweat...it's all yoga! My biggest influences are Sivananda hatha yoga, Rolf Gates vinyasa yoga, ashtanga yoga, and Bernie Clark's yin classes.

- Meditation and Gentle Yoga
My name is Larry Li and I am a meditation facilitator. Although many activities can bring about a meditative concentration flow state, there is something unique about the practice of meditation. In my five years of daily practice, I have discovered that meditation is a set of techniques, skills, and mental attitudes that can help each and everyone of us discover a love and peace inside of us that is free from circumstance. The meditation that I seek to spread is one that helps us thrive in the modern environment we choose to live in today. I firmly believe that everyone has the capacity to meditate and I would love to help you discover your own path to freedom

Johann

Teacher Coordinator
Raised between two cultures, in two languages, three nationalities, many origins, Johann's quest for truth has gone beyond the world of words and reasoning into the realm of the greater will and the boundless Atman. Johann never settles for a lie and prefers wise madness to foolish sanity.
He studied sciences and then liberal arts. He found some pieces of information to be right, and many to be deceiving.
And it was in the depths of his anxious qualms that he came to yoga for healing. And through yoga, and it's origins in Vedantic philosophy, he found every truth, scientific and spiritual, that he was seeking. He found an anchor so solid that his puzzled existence finally came together to make perfect sens in one big picture.
He is currently studying the mastery of the human body through Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
Johann is here to share the solution to problems, as they are all interconnected and form one whole, and have the same solution. He is here to share the simple practices of hatha, anapana and vipassana. No sugar-coating, just plain and simple as inextricable as the law of gravity.
The way of the warrior pushing back the limits of the unknown is to keep balancing the terrors of existence with wonders of learning.

Vinyasa All levels
Although I had been practicing yoga for 6 years, things started to shift in my practice. While initially being drawn to the physicality of yoga, I began to move inward.
Yoga has been a great tool in helping me recognize my true self. I feel a deep sense of gratitude for the lessons my practice has taught me.
The one common denominator in all of my past career pursuits has been my desire to do something that would serve my community. The choices I made did not resonate with me because they didn’t tap into my passion. By teaching yoga, I have found a way to help others by sharing something that I love. Yoga has had a tremendous impact on my life. I want to help others find their true selves and feel that teaching yoga is the right path for me.

Restorative Power
Whether its childhood obesity, mental health and cognitive learning challenges, non verbal learning difficulties, losing two loved ones before I was 18 - I knew there was a deeper meaning to it all.
This is when I first practiced my first asana class at my queer youth group at age 16. After that it wasn't until February 2010 when I returned to the mat and now I live the yogic lifestyle both in asana and the other 7 limbs of yoga.
My goals (which I have many) are not to kick your asses, however to break open the heart and mind/body to purify and nourish the darkness and brightness that which we all inhabit.
My passion is therapeutic restorative, yin, hands-on assists and bodywork, combined with the fluidity and dynamism of vinyasa and pranayama. Definitely laughter and spontaneity as well as a completely different experience each time is what you will have with me and my class.

I am energy-filled and inversion obsessed. The only time my mind quiets, if only for a moment, is when I am upside down or in Savasana. It is only through yoga that I found my ability to breathe. And the breath is such a powerful tool it has gotten me inverted and balanced in ways beyond my wildest dreams. Yoga for me is the opportunity to share my love of life and the power of mind over matter. My power in yoga is my strength and I am the opposite of a flexi yogi, and that is why this practice is so special. Wherever you are in your life, in your body, yoga accepts you and adapts for you!

Sunday 3:30 pm
Sherine was born in Switzerland and moved in Summer 2009 to Vancouver. Once she started with Yoga she always had to go back to the mat. She was drawn to the practice through the unspoken and unseen power behind Yoga, which was life changing for her. She believes that we all carry the light within us: the strength, the freedom, ease and love. Through Yoga everything is possible: we open our heart and our mind to a greater purpose and a more meaningful life. After completing her 200h teacher training, Sherine knew she wants to share her passion and to help other people to connect to the healing and powerful energy of Yoga.

Rachel Evans

Picture
About Rachel: I was born and raised on Norfolk Island, a 1000 miles east of Australia in the South Pacific. Growing up on an island as remote and beautiful as Norfolk, I was raised with a deep appreciation for nature and its inherent harmony, grace, balance, peace, joy and beauty. Today, those qualities continue to act as my foundation in both life and teaching. I discovered my love for yoga and its uplifting effects in 2004. Since that point in time I have continued to deepen my practice, allowing it to integrate into every aspect  of my life. This journey has led me throughout the world, eventually bringing me to study Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh at Golden Bridge Yoga in Los Angeles, CA.
This is where I received my Kundalini Yoga certification through IYKTA, in compliment to a Yin Yoga teacher training I had previously completed with Semperviva's Bernie Clark. Today I practice and teach throughout Vancouver.
My Kundalini classes are always loving, supportive and light-hearted and are open to ALL levels. We ride a wave that allows one to experience a vast array… peace, centering, challenge, strength, energy, playfulness, joy and surrender. I am very blessed to practice with the blossoming Vancouver community. Welcome and Wahe Guru!

Hatha and Yin /Jade McClure - FT, HLC, RYT
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Jade McClure was first introduced to the fitness industry in his teens. Jade quickly realized exercise wasn’t just about the noticeable effects on his body but about gaining confidence, decreasing stress and an overall feeling of well-being. Jade has used these realizations over the past decade to make a mark on the Vancouver fitness community by offering his clients more than a one-hour workout. Rather, they are treated to his holistic, 3-stage approach, called “The Jade Way”, that encompasses Exercise, Nutrition and Yoga .
